Moving Counter: 6725

I was VERY lucky that I accidentally saw HURRAY moving companies car and their contacts. It was really pleasure to work with them. They helped me with moving of my office , everything was very well organized and very fast. Workers were careful and almost nothing destroyed (only one table a little bit) . OK honest to say it was quite pricey , but I am quite satisfied with result and quality, because no stress and no troubles. I only regret about why I did not select possible option, when you just give keys from old office and new office, and HURRAY moving company take care of everything at all. Because it is also possible :) Next time I will order them again with such option. Highly recommended.

Useful advice for personal moving

The moving is not so terrible as it is painted

In fact, if you approach to moving to a flat or a country house “logistically”, you can move all the stuff safe and sound in a very short term, without great emotional experience and explicit costs.

Independently of reasons and circumstances which accompany your moving the perfect decision will be - addressing to a moving company, the specialists of which will dismantle, pack, and move your stuff for very few hours due to their experience, skills, and material and technical equipment.

If you decided to do some part of work by yourself, use our pieces of advice. Thus, there will be a chance that your moving won’t be a domestic disaster for you together with building or major repairs.

Work out lists for qualitative moving organization

Working out of different lists is not waste, but saving of time. Even if you don’t have any experience in making plans or lists of urgent tasks, you will still manage to work out two detailed lists, all the more it will take not more than 10-15 minutes.

List # 1 must contain a list of things which have to be moved (clothes, books, crockery, technics etc.).

List # 2 is a list of tasks which must be resolved in the framework of moving (to order transport and loaders’ services, to buy packing material etc.).

Get ready beforehand

It is necessary to prepare packing material beforehand. We advise you to buy professional material (cardboard boxes, layer, paper, goffered package, packets, and sacks) using of which will minimize the risk of cargo damaging and let avoid cargo loss. According to statistics, 30 % of property is lost or damaged while being transported because of wrong packing.

Order transport beforehand and acquaint with conditions of work of a chosen transport company (if it offers loaders’ services and transportation outside your city, if it works during week-end etc.).

It wouldn't be a bad idea to work out detailed description of things which are transported by the company. And a point about the transporter’s liability for breakage must be included in the documents.

Place all the things correctly

Before you put your stuff into boxes or packets you have to pack it with paper or layer. It’s better to use multilayer paper or bubble-air layer for packing fragile and glass items.

While putting items into boxes you have to stick to the rule “heavy – down, light – up”. By the way, if you put clothes between fragile things, it can serve as shock-absorber. But clothes must be mainly moved in separate boxes. Thus, it will be much easier for you to find the things you need in your new flat.

Mark boxes and things

We advice you to sign boxes with a highlighter to find all the necessary things after moving easily. Marks may be placed on outer sides of furniture elements, it will help you assemble them quickly. Furniture fittings must be transported with the sets they belong to. It will save time for their search.

And finally

If it’s necessary to transport your pet as well, buy a bag for a cat, muzzle and lead for a dog beforehand.

Prepare and put money and documents into a separate packet, try to keep it with you.

Rule 80/20 is as vital for moving organization, as it is for any process or phenomenon. If you spend 80 % of your time and efforts for preparation, you will need only 20 % for moving itself.
